His humanitarian diplomacy extended internationally when Senator Abiola Ajimobi, the Governor of Oyo State in Nigeria, contracted COVID-19. At the request of the Nigerian government, he played a pivotal role in facilitating the supply of a Bangladeshi-produced medicine. With the intervention of Bangladesh’s Foreign Minister, Dr. A. K. Abdul Momen, the medicine and protective equipment were dispatched to Nigeria on a special government-arranged flight. This episode stands as a proud chapter in Bangladesh’s international engagement.

Championing the “Blue Gold Economy”:

Mr. Bhuiyan firmly believes that Bangladesh’s vast freshwater reserves can position the nation as a global hub of the “Blue Gold Economy.” Through policy papers, speeches, and published articles, he has consistently advocated for bottled water exports, water diplomacy, and investments in climate-resilient infrastructure.
